Background. I have a background in tree ecophysiology. Within my PhD I am assessing to what extent changes in individual tree water status can be linked to tree stress at the canopy level (from airborne sensors) and landscape level (satellite-based sensors). Using UAVs, I measure diel and seasonal patterns in tree crown reflectance and temperature. This allows me to link changes in canopy indices and temperature (as drought response proxies) to individual tree water status, offering insights into the complex relationship between tree physiology and environmental stressors.
